Face of  the Day a few days ago: Starring Honeybee Gardens

I’ve come to really enjoy sharing the face of the day posts because they remind me to try new things or retry old things to keep it interesting. I was chatting with the amazing Britanie Faith recently about how much we love Honeybee Gardens. The shadows, lipsticks and powders are great, and so affordable! However, I’ve had a hard time with their pencils. The product inside is wonderful and smudgy, and I like to use them as a base for shadows. Unfortunately, the product on the outside, the pencil itself, is not so wonderful. So while I loved the ‘blue jeans’ eyeliner for its pretty bluish teal color and soft smudginess, the moment I had to sharpen it, our love affair fell apart. I hope HBG fixes this soon because I sincerely love everything else they make!

Here’s what I wore from left to right:

Makeup: Benecos natural mascara maximum volume in deep black. Tarte amazonian clay blush in Tipsy. Revlon eyelash curler (favorite), Real Techniques powder brush. OCC lip tar in melange (I think!). Crown Brush lip brush. Tarte amazonian clay waterproof concealer. Honey Bee Gardens pressed mineral powder in supernatural. ZuZu Luxe cream brow pencil in russet. Crown Brush C440 angle shadow brush. Honeybee Gardens eyeliner in blue jeans. Tarte eyeshadow depotted, (color unknown, you can see me depot it here.)

Skincare: Juice Beauty green apple SPF 15 moisturizer. Hylunia beyond complex c bio-active serum. Hylunia facial day lotion.

I love this Hylunia serum; I’m almost out and I need to reorder. If you are curious about the order I use these products, I always do active ingredients (serum) first, then SPF and or moisturizer. Also, I’ve mentioned this before, but in case you are wondering, the Hylunia products you see are usually professional sizes as this is the line I currently use in my skincare practice.

I’m curious, has anyone ever tried any of the Hylunia products? I absolutely love them, but I’m not sure how readily available they are. I think you can only buy them through their online store, or in the spas & salons that carry them. If you have sensitive skin, they are an amazing brand to try. The entire line is hyaluronic acid based, is mostly preservative free (except for their sunscreen, which uses .03% phenoxyethanol) and was created by a Doctor for his infant daughter’s sensitive skin. I love this brand because not only are their products natural, they are extremely effective. Seriously, this serum, is the best thing ever.

Who here is asking for all natural and organic makeup and skincare this holiday season? What’s on your list? Let me know in the comments, I love hearing from you guys!
